helloo i just read ur itoshi brothers hc and I LOVE LOVE LOVE ITTTT the concept is so cute istg I NEED A PART 2 🫀

i decided to merge both of these asks into one since they're kinda the same premise anyway so this will be a self insert of your own blue lock boy! so that'll mean (bl/p) = blue lock player! also pretty much rin centered 😘

honestly speaking, the only one who'll ever have a problem with you dating is rin tbh. i mean, sae would also bitch about you dating at your age but it's not the same kind of bitching like rin's (💀)

rin would 100% pop a vein vessel when he finds out you're dating one of his peers from blue lock. there's no debate to it. he will quite literally lose his shit.

because first of all, those little blue lock boys that are on rin's palm literally made a scouts honor (rin basically forced them tbh) that they will not be interact with you even if it meant life or death. second of all, i've said this multiple times but it's true, they're gonna get it from rin. he does not give a single fuck if they were teammates, on the same team, literally even if they were roommates with him. rin will absolutely "devour" and "kill" them on and off the field.

so the u-20 vs blue lock match comes rolling in. it currently halftime and all players (including rin) were taking a short break and drinking water while discussing with ego about their plan for the next half of the match.

on the corner of rin's eye, he notices a player walk up to the stands, near where the VIP's were seated. he was about to call them out for not listening to the upcoming game plan but instead he was met with you, his sister, his own blood relative, wiping the sweat off the player's face with a ridiculous smile on your face.

"y/n, what the fuck!" you hear someone complain. you looked up and look who's stomping on the way to you? that's right! it's rin! with his infamous scowl.

"rin-nii~ hi!" you chirped, waving your hand at him. rin stops and whips his head towards (bl/p), glaring at them with the nastiest look on rin's face you've ever seen

"what the fuck is this about, (bl/p)? do you have a deathwish or something?" rin starts to nag. a little too loud for your liking tbh. because all the other players (including u20 btw) are now looking at the commotion.

seeing you looking all lost and confused in between rin and a blue lock player sae has never even heard of, he decides to intervene.

"what's this about, y/n?" you hear sae ask, walking over to you, rin and your boyfriend.

"sae-nii! hi! rin is scaring my boyfriend" you pout, motioning your hands to your boyfriend and rin bickering. sae was about to open his mouth to say something before he whips your head at the speed of light the moment the word 'boyfriend' escaped your lips

you. had. a. boyfriend?

"what did you just say?" sae repeats, putting a hand on his ear as if that would change the shit you just said. sae immediately diverts his attention to your boyfriend and rin. your eyes widened at the realization the both of your brothers were (if not) about to team up for once in their life and quite literally devour your poor boyfriend.

but it seems like luck was with your boyfriend that day. the referees just blew their whistle, indicating it was time for the other half of the match just right before sae opened his mouth.

your boyfriend sighs in relief and jogs over to the rest of the blue lock team with rin in tow. but before rin and sae go back to their respective teams, they both turn around to face you and motioned the "i'm watching you" sign. rolling your eyes, you waved both of them off.

Emmet would totally not get why the Hunting Guild is so terrified of the Black Dragons, especially Fatalis. He'd look at it and think he's an oversized shiny charizard. And considering how popular that line is in Kanto, you can bet he's faced his fair share of Charizards

Emmet being completely unafraid of "classic" boss monsters because in his mind, they're a really big pokemon. Pokemon that don't fight fair, but can be still *outwitted*.

Emmet, fumbling a pokedex/hunter guide: "Verrry interesting! You look to be similar to a Heatran recorded in northern Sinnoh! Although your proportions and enviroment suggest otherwise."

Akantor, the size of a building: *revs up to cause a volcanic earthquake*

Emmet, realising: "Ah. Best I ascend for this trip." *summons Archeops to Fly him to a higher point*

I feel like Emmet does pause when he sees certain monsters. Notably ones like Astalos and the Soulseeker Mizutsune - ones that look a bit too similar to Unovan Legendaries.

He's also doesn't have a deathwish. If he recognises a threat as being "off the tracks", then he has no shame in Abandoning the Quest or using sneaky tactics to wear down his threat.

Eelektross is pretty amazing for hanging onto monsters weak to Thunder-damage. And ofc Galvantula is a genius for crafting combo-Pitfall/Thunder traps with her webs. Durant and Excadrill are also helpful in creating foxholes or pitfalls mid-battle.

Emmet does make sure his team are nice and healthy. He doesn't understand why he has to be finished after 60 mins... it's curry picnic time :3

The hunted witness sprinted madly into the magical sunbeam filtering down from the Boros angel’s sword. The ray then exploded with a blinding flash, stunning everyone present. When the light faded, the man was nowhere to be seen, much to the dismay of the Dimir spy that had been chasing after him.

“Elori,” grumbled the cloaked vampire standing across the way, “that man was an…asset of House Dimir.”

“And now he is safe from you, Nefara!” the angel spat back in return. “You and your schemes.”

Nefara gave Elori a slack-jawed stare, inadvertently flashing her razor sharp fangs. “You imbecile! He’s one of our informants!”

“Under coercion, no doubt.”

“His confession wasn’t forced! Why else would we want to protect him?”

“Protect…?” Elori blinked in surprise, then shook her head to refocus. “No. You won’t fool me. You were chasing him.”

“Chasing him to the next safehouse!” Nefara hissed. “It was a cover! No one would dare interfere with Dimir ‘business’ unless they either had a deathwish…or wanted to play hero, like you!”

“You lie.”

“Ask him!”

Elori raised her sword, and turned the blade sideways to look at the flat. Begrudgingly, she waved it around, causing it to glow with the same light from before, and spoke to it:

“Can you hear me in there?”

“Y-Yeah!” echoed the witness’s voice from the blade. “Uh, you are part of the whole…thing, right?”

Elori scowled at the question, and dispelled her weapon’s light without answering. Looking down, she directed her ire at Nefara.

“All right! All right…so you are telling the truth. But why conceal it from us and the Azorius?”

“Because you’d have inevitably ruined it, like you did just now,” Nefara snarked. “And, erm…Azorius?”

“I’m here! I’m here…”

A haggard Azorius arrester sprinted into view, adopting a solid stance as she stared down Nefara.

“I’ve got your back, Elori! Let’s take down this villain!”

“No need, arrester. It was a misunderstanding.”

“…Oh?”

Nefara almost laughed at the Azorius’s disappointed look.

I feel we may be coming back to this Blog sometimes since we just found it, but as for a confession:

I know my source self is less broken than I feel for failing you again, and again, I was unable to stop him the first time and ended up worse off than in my souce. I was angry instead of depressed and drove you away just for us to mend that relationship, just for me to screw up again. We were closer than source at the beginning from shared prejudice, and I was willing to stand and not hide. You felt safe, and I lost that aura from blind emotion and seeing the worst. I became reckless, an adrenaline fueled beast who didn't know when to quit, and even if it's no longer outside my head, the scars, and seeing how they made you scared about my safety lingers in my thoughts. Your golden eyes at the verge of intervening, followed by the later tearing of fabric and you telling me I am an idiot who didn't need to protect you under your breath as I was blacking out. Both you and the others deserved better than what I ended up being in those years after Beacon. I know you and the rest of the team forgave me, but it's heavy on my mind tonight, me and the accusatory deathwish that lead to losing more arm, which was all I lost in the source. All of this from the fact that even if I don't have my blindspot while fronting, I still have my bad depth perception to fuck us up, and the body almost got hurt from me misjudging distance.

This was kinda a vent, but either way, thank you mods of this blog for allowing sort of... fictive source stuff, and I see more submissions in foresight... I will see myself out.

Isaldian crew vs. attitude towards death and the concept of fate.

It occured to me that having a bunch of characters who regularly risk life and limb sort-of necessitates that they have some sort of attitude towards the perilous circumstances they face, and towards the fact they're often surrounded by death. The whole thing turned out to be pretty long (plus Theria's illustration turned out to be pretty gory), so I'm putting it under the cut.

Igna - Blaze of glory

Igna's acutely aware her line of work may result in a violent death. However, generally once she considers a matter or an ideal worthy enough, she's willing to fight for it, and by extension, die for it, if it comes to that. Her furious determination extends to the matters or life and death; if she is really set on defending something, or someone, she doesn't back down - even if she logically speaking should. Was she to willingly sacrifice her life, she'd want it to happen in a way that won't make her easily forgotten, and she'd want it to matter, or to make some sort of a difference. That being said, she definitely doesn't seek an opportunity to die with a bang. She would much prefer to live to see the end of the war and she is generally afraid of death, however her fear is fairly easily dulled by adrenaline and/or anger. Igna doesn't believe in predestination - but she believes in providence.

Argo - death behind a shoulder

It's very probable Argo has heard one time too much that he should not be alive. His very existence has brushed with death practically since he was born, and as a result he has a deeply ingrained attitude of someone who's aware he's living on a borrowed time thrice over. He believes that becoming a Wanderer, he pretty much signed up to a premature and probably gruesome death. This constant proximity to the perspective of his own demise has desensitised him, to the point that he appears weirdly calm in life-or-death situations. It's often read as though he doesn't really believe he can die at all, which cannot be further from truth. The weird atmosphere of his early life has led him to become a fatalist, and a pessimist - he's pretty certain he's going to die young, but having survived so many dangerous situations he just gave up on constant gauging when exactly it could happen. He has a pretty good self-preservation instinct that preserves him from immediate danger, but he easily takes up daunting tasks with a nigh suicidal courage.

Theria - deathwish

Theria has had a pretty active deathwish since the battle of Haergard. Like most shapeshifters, she posesses very quick regeneration ability, which makes her incredibly hard to kill. Her body can take a lot of punishment before she stops actively fighting, making her a terrifying juggernaut, in either her human or wolf form. She throws herself in the face of danger, almost taunting fortune to turn on her and finally strike her down. She doesn't go around in a blind self-destructive mode all the time, as she tends to her injuries and doesn't hurt herself blindly, but she's way more prone to take unnecessary risks than any other member of the team. Her ache after the loss of her mate and brethren has lessened with time, but she very much doesn't fear death at all.

Daen - the deathless

The Bloodless are notoriously hard to kill - they age very slowly, and like all magically altered humans, they recover quickly even from deadly injuries. Daen considers himself worthy of death for his past transgressions, but also he thinks of death as an easy way out of a proper penance. He is acutely aware that his skills, knowledge and experience makes him more valuable to the other people alive, and so he tries to keep himself in a good form to help others. He doesn't put himself (or others) deliberately in a way of senseless danger. Daen believes in a complete self-determination, interestingly at the same time he's quite religious.

Haart - the unwilling

Out of the whole team, Haart is the one that geniunely fears death. He has to face it pretty often, and deal it too, but that doesn't mean he's at peace with its perspective. He has a most acute self-preservation instinct out of them all, and the fact he's able to wrestle his fears into submission and head into fray over and over again is a testament to his resolve. He knows being a Scorchwielder, he has no other way to live, but he wishes a lot that he didn't have to do it. Having a pretty subdued role in a dwarven society as a young man, he wasn't raised to challenge status quo in any fundamental regard. Having witnessed a lot of senseless death, he thinks that the determining force of many aspects of life is sheer luck.

I'm writing a character analysis fic about how Cass and Jason are narrative foils in terms of their attitudes towards killing, and I was wondering if you could recall the best issues that explain why Jason kills and why Cass doesn't? I have a vague recollection of their motives, but my memory is not great and I want to go kind of in depth.

Ohhhh okay okay, so, the general answers I think lay in Under the Red Hood + Red Hood: Lost Days for Jason, and Batgirl Vol. 1 for Cass. But those are hefty stories to throw at you rather than specific issues, so to narrow down a little bit more with a few issues that stand out in my memory:

JASON — Batman #647 with Alfred’s narration combined with the Bruce & Jason sort of team-up I think says something interesting about how Jason sees Batman as too predictable due to his no-kill rule, thinking he’s unable to properly protect Gotham because criminals know he won’t kill them... which can serve as some explanation for why he will. Then Batman #649-650 with the big final confrontation btwn Jason, Bruce & Joker where he monologues at Bruce gives more insight on Jason’s POV as well. Also another separate Jason story tht goes into it a bit—his belief that doing bad things like killing is justified if for a greater good—is his talk with Mia in Green Arrow Vol. 3 #72

CASS — Batgirl Vol. 1 #19 exemplifies her belief that anyone is capable of change and deserves to live and have that chance, the ‘Nobody dies tonight’ quote comes from this issue. Another issue that goes into that belief about change (though less connected to 'killing vs not killing' in the specific scenario, i think is still relevant in terms of how deeply she believes it) is #36. Then #23 & 25 I think dig into the guilt aspect well, how her first kill when she was a child who didn’t know what she was doing has given her such an intense understanding of how precious life is (as well as a deathwish for herself because of what she had done, until facing Shiva helps her to get over that part).

as the skeleton began to walk away, suddenly - an explosion of negative aura would push him back a bit before he decides to look behind him, bumping into a black-type goo.

"As you can see, i found your AU due to the amount of negativity being produced by it."

"I came to check on what could be in the AU and look what I found."

"Somebody worthy enough of being added to my team..."

"A team of powerful Sanses, which can dominate this multiverse."

The skeleton although confused, seemingly looking at the black figure before hitting the figure with a punch, sending the black figure back a bit.

"Oh? you don't want to join?"

"Then I guess I have to force you."

"Infact..."

"I'll let you fight my most royal subordinate."

Suddenly, out of a portal - a hooded figure would appear, before punching killer in the chest, however killer blocking and countering quickly.

Killer: Seems like I'm going to have to fight...

Killer: Prepare, whoever you are.

Killer began to manufacture black bones, Him launching the bones at the hooded figure however the hooded figure known as Dust began to block them, before dashing attempting to land a hit on Killer as Killer ducks down, punching Dust.

Nightmare watches the events unfold, seemingly surprised at the fact that Killer is standing his own against Dust.

The fight continues on increasing in intensity the ever-increasing moment, before Killer lands a hit on Dust - leaving a mark on his face.

Killer: Looks like I hit you..

Dust: Lucky hit, I'm not going down though.

Killer: Your Deathwish.

Before Killer could land another hit in, Nightmare would interrupt the battle, holding killer with one of his tentacles, as he would begin to speak.

Nightmare: SINCE YOU! AND YES! YOU DUST! CAN'T EVEN BEAT HIM.

Nightmare: And you, killer. Nightmare: You're a special case, one that I could take advantage of. Nightmare: So, you're joining my crew. Nightmare: And YOU don't have a choice.
